Terra is the only place where life, as we know it, was born and persisted. At the moment there’s no other place for us to go to, there is no Plan B. It is this context that must open our eyes to the precarious equilibrium that life requires and the need to protect and maintain. At present, humanity appears to be ignoring these parameters. We have turned away from the primordial elements of our existence; indeed we treat these elements with a shocking amount of superficiality when compared to our selfdefined place along the path of evolution. The major issue is not necessarily the fact that we have, for the most part, lost all respect for nature but rather the fact that we pursue goals and desires created by society with a vehemence that puts in danger our entire ecosystem.
‘Peren’ attempts to approach these issues by recreating a bridge between humans and nature that seeks to activate our collective conscience thus putting the viewer in a position to reconsider his place in the world as a whole and his relationship to the environment.
